New Beginnings - Development Showcase + Q&A
New Beginnings is a creative development initiative presented by blue joy theatre co. It champions BIPOC-led storytelling and fosters collaboration between BIPOC and non-BIPOC creatives. On May 4th 2025 at Midland Junction Arts Centre, you will witness two new scripts exploring love, identity, and relationships till we meet again and better late, than never, written by lead creative Mohammed Ayo Busari, under direction from emerging artist Zoe Garciano. This project has recieved writing mentorship from Mararo Wangai, and directing mentorship from Gita Bezard. Thanks to Propel Youth Arts WA for supporting New Beginnings.

‘better late, than never’ – a heartfelt story of friendship, loyalty, and the unspoken truths that surface between three close friends in one emotionally charged morning.
‘till we meet again’ – a poetic journey through Perth’s creative scene as young artists navigate love, vulnerability, and the power of human connection.
